A Vision Born
From the Ground Up
"Everyone told us you couldn't build a premium brand around rocks. That's exactly why we knew we had to."
It started, as many great things do, with three friends standing in a field. Robert Gee, a man who had always felt a profound and inexplicable kinship with stones, looked at the neglected land on his rural property and saw not dirt and debris — but potential. He called his longtime friends Chris and Cecil, and by nightfall, over cold beers and mild skepticism, Tower Rock Farm was born.
Robert brings the vision: a deep, almost spiritual belief that rocks are the world's most undervalued object. They have been with us since before the dinosaurs and they will be here long after we are gone. Why, he asked, should something so ancient and enduring be treated as a commodity?
Chris, a self-taught amateur geologist and enthusiastic outdoorsman, became the farm's Head of Rock Science and Field Operations. He developed the proprietary Tower Rock Ripeness Index™ — a 47-point assessment that determines when a rock has reached its optimal aesthetic and structural peak. Critics have questioned whether a rock can be "not ripe yet." Chris has no time for critics.
Cecil rounds out the team as Director of Rock Personality Profiling. It was Cecil who first observed that rocks have distinct personalities and should be matched to owners accordingly. His intake questionnaire — which prospective buyers are encouraged to complete before purchasing — has become legendary in artisan stone circles.
Today, Tower Rock Farm ships — correction: coordinates client-arranged shipping of — premium rocks to collectors, interior designers, landscape architects, and regular people who just want something real in their lives.
